Scott Matthew – Little Bird (Tab)

One event I’m very much looking forward to following this year is Bosko and Honey’s Oz Safari. Compared to New Zealand, we hear very little about the Australian uke scene. So I’m eager to learn more.

One Australian I don’t expect to be seeing on the Safari – I believe he lives in the US now – is Scott Matthew. But it’s a good enough segue for me because I’ve been meaning to post this one for an age.

Before you tackle it a couple of things you need to know:

– It’s played in D-tuning
– It’s in 3/4 time.
– For the picking use your thumb on the G-string then one finger each for the other strings.

“And IIIIII…” part is A7 then one strum each on D – D7 – D6.

    NIce one! I’ve been trying to work this out for a while. This guy does some great stuff. He has a new album out but I actually preferred the album with this on. Many thanks!

    I also watched Upside Down – Where can I hire an official umbrella-holder? She’d be really handy here in rainy Vancouver…

    I meant that in ‘D’ tuning, there is no ‘G’ string!

    mictoboy: Oh! I still say it’s the g-string no matter what you tune it to. And it saves confusion as to which string I’m referring to (A-string could be either of them).

    The Riff is transposed down a step but the chords aren’t. Either play the riff that’s tabbed out up 2 frets and keep the chords or play the riff as shown but transpose the chords down a whole step.

    I….strum….
    G7 – C – C7 – C6
