Eric Clapton – Layla

I had considered tabbing the acoustic version of this before I realised it was incredibly dull in comparison. In the original version, there are a few screaming string bends. String bends tend not to work too well on the uke, so I’d suggest you use slides instead (and plenty of vibrato to keep the string ringing).

    Vibrato? I’m not a genius when it comes to the ukulele, so what’s a vibrato and how does it keep the string going?

    Variant > I think he was talking about a bendo… You keep your finger on the fret and push the string up and down to make a distorsion effect. =)

    ( But well I’m not a genius too -o- so I’m not sure)

    I find it easier to hammer on and off of the E string (0-3-0) on the second note like you do with the third and fourth notes, on the A string :)

    Great work once again woodshed. One thing though: Instead of playing the last note of bar 4 as a 7th fret on the E string, you can just slide back to a 2 on the A string. I guess it’s just personal preference.

    Theo: Yeah, you could do that. I chose the 7th because you’re in that position already.

    Any chance you could tab the acoustic, dull as it may be? I’d love to nail it but my uke ability is newly discovered and as such, limited. Keep up the incredible work!

    instead of playin open G its easyier if you use 3rd fret E stringb
