John King – Carol of the Bells

I was going to start December with a quick selection of Christmas uke videos, then I discovered that a video of ukulele master John King playing Carol of the Bells has just been uploaded to YouTube. It pretty much trumps any other video.

You can download the fiendishly difficult tab on Nalu Music. Or, if you’re a mere mortal, you’ll be able to get your hands on my more simple arrangement in a couple of days.

I’ve also arranged a version of Carol of the Bells in my ebook How To Play Christmas Ukulele. It’s much simpler than King’s version but it’s in the same key, so you can mix and match as you see fit.

UPDATE: Sorry, it was in the first edition of the ebook but not in the second because it was still too bloody difficult.

Wow…This is so wonderfully played, I think this song was written for the ‘uke. Beautiful, just proves all you need to make music of high calibre is a ukulele.

I’m certainly with you on that, Terry. Have you seen his Classical Ukulele tab book? Some top arrangements in it.

Looked at this last night and so far i’ve learnt the first part, up to the point where the notes are on fret 14. And it sounds amazing! :D thank you for posting it :)

Carol of the bells doesn’t seem to be in your ebook

Shameless: Sorry. I should have changed this post. It was in the first edition but it’s not in the second. Even the simplified version turned out to be too hard.

Got something to say?
