The Beatles – Come Together/Day Tripper

I’m breaking my ‘no Beatles’ rule once again for this post. There’s no denying that they came up with some great riffs and these are a pair of humdingers.

Come Together

The Beatles come together ukulele tab

Seeso did a top version of this song. That’s a great example of how to fill out a riff to make it work as a full song on the ukulele. But for our purposes, I’ve stuck with the simpler single note version.

Day Tripper

For this tab, I’ve taken advantage of the re-entrant string and barred my first finger across the third fret after the first note. I use my thumb to pick the G and C strings, my index finger on the E string and middle finger on the A string.

    Jimmy- I listen to Abbey Road all the time anymore. It always works.

    Woodshed- sweet! I’ve been working on seeso’s tabs just this week (thanks, seeso) and I always like to have a couple of different tabs to look at. I find that really helps my learning process.

    I must admit, I rarely listen to The Beatles anymore. I had a phase in my youth where I listened to very little but The Beatles and I think I burned myself out on them.

    Thanks for THAT riff, ‘Shed… at the Portland Uke Fest they call all the local folks “Day Trippers…” So, this year I’m coming armed and ready! I’ve got a real reason, for taking the easy out, yeah.

    i have a few questions. when there is a number with a U or ) turned to the side without a number after it, what do u do? hammer on to nothing?
    also, when it goes 3-4,3, 3 that last 3 seems very out of place or atleast sounds out of place. correct me if im wrong

    Come Together sounds awful and day tripper is wrong. this site is total bullcrap. I could find better material underneath my shoe. Poophead: Hammer-ons means you slide from 5-7.

    Besides, what kind of a rule is a no-beatles rule? If this site had beatles, then I would come here 24/7. This is an embarrassment to all ukulele players

    Maybe it’s my age but why are some people so damned rude on the internet. I’ve got a lot from this site (and others) and the e-books have helped enormously in my immensely enjoyable learning experience. There is of course some stuff that doesn’t appeal, so I turn the page. Generally a great site so keep it up Woodshed.

    I’m with Simon. Fine, a mistake was made, and fixed. Get over it. I have found this site to be very useful and enjoyable too and am a regular reader for the last year or so.
    In regards to the No-beatles rule, who gives a crap, there is tabs for the Beatles all over the net, there is even a blog devoted to Uke covers of the beatles. It is an area well and truly covered!!

    Now why is it that “Someone who knows what he’s talking about” wants to be so rude about pointing out an error? I’d have thought that if you do indeed know what you’re talking about you wouldn’t need to be looking on this website in the first place. Start your own, maybe. Be as rude to your own contributors as much as you like. Maybe s/he should try to Give Peace a Chance and chill out a little. Still love ya work, Woodshed.

    alright site. but what you said about there being enough beatles on the internet isn’t true. there is only one site that’s any good that is completely devoted to Beatles, but that site doesn’t let you download its songs or copy/paste them. plus, the rude mr. someone who knows what he’s talking about is actually right. and if he’s wrong, well, i played both versions and they sound the same. the only difference is the fact that his version is easier.

    Oh well, I’ll leave the beatles to it for the moment I think. I know a couple of simple beatles songs and thats enough, I have other stuff to be learning! :D

    I love it. Someone who is both rude and dumb. Who’d have thought that both could go hand-in-hand? Maybe Billy is the type of person who says bad things about his boss on Facebook, forgetting that he made his boss a friend 6 months ago.

    Sorry about that. I was really mad that day, then tried to make up for it. I realize how stupid it is to apologize on a comment, but it’s the least i can do. I’m also making excuses for spazzing on the internet then trying to cover it up. Anyways i like your site and i think it’s great that you’re encouraging people to play the ukulele.

    Hmmmmm….sounds genuine. I say fair play to “Billy” or whoever you might be. I advise spazzing out on a larger more anonymous site next time! :) Youtube is great for that type of thing! Random arguments with strangers, nice. :D
