Electrelane – Cut and Run

Electrelane – Cut and Run (Chords)

You can listen to a clip of Cut and Run on Amazon

Former indie rockers, Electrelane are another one of those bands you wouldn’t have expected to come out with a ukulele track. But Cut and Run cropped up on their final album No Shouts, No Calls.

It’s a straight forward song with the same chord progression throughout. The only slight issue is that the F chord is played at the fifth fret (with the open C chord shape). If you’re not comfortable playing that far up the neck and not happy with the big jump, you can substitute it for the usual open F chord shape.

Thank you so much! I’ve been wanting to learn this song since I first heard it around January, but I haven’t been able to figure it out. Uke Hunt is AMAZING!…It’s like you can read my mind…freaky.

Electrelane is a huge favorite of mine and tons of high-fives for putting this on here. however when i had set out to do this one myself a while back i found that the f chord sounded better (or at least more like the song) when in the shape of e stepped up a fret.

    just an opinion.

    Thanks for the pointers, Ryan.

Hi I really love this song but I need a bit of help figuring out the strumming. I’m very new to the ukulele so sorry if it’s an obvious answer! Thanks very much

    Sarah: On the F and Dm chords: d – d -d -

    And on the C chords: x u – u – u d u d u

this is fantastic, thanks. i am finding that the f chord is sounding off though, is it first fret barred and little finger on the first string 4th fret?
    thanks x

laura: No, it isn’t! The 5 at the side of the chord chart means it starts at the fifth fret. So it’s fifth fret barred and little finger on the 8th fret.

    Hope that sounds better.

Got something to say?
