Beastie Boys – Fight for Your Right To Party
March 5, 2009
The Beastie Boys’ Fight for Your Right is pretty much the first bar of Smoke on the Water over and over. They’re all power chords, so you can play them on all four strings or, if you want to keep it simple, just on the G and C strings like the Smoke riff.

Love your site Woodshed.
I have to say though that sometimes I feel like the only person in the world that realizes that the Beastie Boys suck on toast. Cher too.
Just sayin. ;D
Is sucking on toast a good thing or a bad thing?
I like toast
We just upgraded our home stereo system and one of the first CDs we put in to test the sound was The Beastie Boys.
And then, when we knew it could handle it, we cranked the Zeppelin.
Anyhow, nice job with this riff.
And, if we’re weighing in on toast, I can take it or leave it.
QAs, zym and Lonna: Very much in the pro-toast camp here. Not so sure about sucking on it though.
Ive often wondered if Toast enjoys the same poularity around the world as it does in the UK?
I think its almost a national dish :)
And by the way, i LOVE the beastie boys:)
But I also love the Beastles
You’ll have to find a torrent of them these days, so heres a taste – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc64PcrmhDE&feature=related
zym: My favourite djBC Beasties mash-up has to be We Got the Soukous with Kanda Bongo Man (mp3 link). Best mashup album of all time: The Kleptones’ Detroit to JA. Just fabulous.
I’ll give them a listen.
I used to have a wicked mashup of ‘Bring the noise’ and the theme to ‘Its a knockout’ (complete with Stuart Hall)
zym: I’m not familiar with that one. Sounds great.
found it…

Its ‘bring the beanbag’
Thanks, Andy. I don’t think it quite works. Eminem vs Winifred Atwell on the other hand… genius.
Funny, I guess my slang is a little confusing. Not that I haven’t heard that before. ;)
I’ll try to explain, but it’s a bit of a stretch between my disliking cream chipped beef on toast to putting other things I dislike on toast.
IE: “Man! That sucks on toast!”
Hope this clears things up. Probably not, but still pretty dang funny.
Ha!
QAs: Don’t sweat it. I think everyone got what you meant. We were just having some lexicographical fun.
