Guitar Riffs + St Patrick’s Day = Inevitable Lizzy

… and a bit of harmony action. This has to be the best bit of harmony guitar work ever (run close by the Hotel California solo). So I’ve kept that and written up two ukulele parts (moved up four frets to fit).

My favorite harmony guitar solo is the one on And Your Bird Can Sing with George & Paul playing together on the official album version. Thought when the album came out (Yesterday…& Today over here & Revolver, of course, for you) & for a long time, that it was George playing 12-string &, in fact, a version with him playing the solo on 12-string was recorded a week before the dual-guitar version, but was rejected. This version, I just found out, does appear on the Anthology 2 album.

this guitar riff is one of those things that brings together young nerdy boys and makes them young nerdy men, WITH GUITARS!

This song was used as a theme song in the heyday of the Detroit Pistons and I remember, as a child, watching the Pistons while my daddy knocked back a couple beers. Ahhh…nostalgia.

ron: Yeah, that’s a good one. Still, prefer Lizzy ;)

    cbf: Thanks.

Emily: I can’t claim to be sure what a Detroit Piston is, but they have good taste in theme songs.

Got something to say?
