Shigeto Takahashi – Monday Exposure

Shigeto Takahashi – Peanut Vendor (MP3)
Shigeto Takahashi – Goofus (MP3) via his website

I’m a big fan of Shigeto’s playing. He was the first person I ever interviewed for the blog. He’s just released his debut CD Roots Trip which contains spirited uke versions of traditional Hawaiian songs, classical music and traditional tunes. You can check out more of his older demos here.

I’m not even going to *pretend* to be polite here…

For all you shreddy little dweebs who say things like “Oh, dood, you can start on a soprano and then, like, *graduate* to a tenor” I would like to present Shigeto Takahashi.

I think nothing more need be said.

I still have that CD you sent me of Shigeto Takahashi. It’s ace. Is the new CD as good?

    Jake: Couldn’t agree more.

Armelle: And a very nice guy.

Hobbit: I’m still not won over to the sound of low-G on a soprano.

luke: Good to hear. I’ll have to get my hands on it.

Nelson: Where’ve you been? I was about to send out a search party.

    Jimmy: I don’t know. I haven’t managed to snag a copy yet.

Been playing in two bands, bass and classical guitar.
So, unfortunately, uke had to take a break.

HOWEVER, I’m visiting my cousin in London and would love to do lunch with ya sometime over the next three weeks. Deal?

  9. Woodshed June 17th, 2009 7:40 pm

Nelson: I don’t live anywhere near London, I’m afraid. But I’ll be at the London Uke Fest.
