The Ventures / U900 – Diamond Head

The Ventures/U900 – Diamond Head (Tab)

As well as being seven shades of adorable, U900 have excellent taste in covers. So I’ll be putting up tabs based on their two tunes along with my own arrangement of a Ventures tune.

It’s not often I say this, but you can use a pick on this one. The first part in particular is very tricky without one. Plus it’ll help the solo uke stand out against the chords.

i love the ventures version and the u900 version is agreat arrangement, it sounds slightly odd with a soft japanese accent adding oohs and ahhs, but all part of the charm i guess,
    thanks woodshed.

Argggghh, I don’t know if using a felt pick make any difference (I’m using guitar picks) but I find the first 55558888 part impossible, the pick get stuck on the string.

newbie, if you don’t like that, never play bass in a pop punk band

cbf and Nick: I was forever losing picks in my guitar days. I’m with Nick. I love the cute hooo, haaas.

newbie: Probably easier with a guitar pick. Practice time!

byjimini: Yes, it’s coming up on Thursday. I thought I was posting it today but things seem to have got switched round.

I know you’re not supposed to use picks with uke but I just can’t help it. I can play just fine without one but it gets me the volume I want

Jomes: I do think picks have their place. But you have to be careful how you use them.

the UOGB are a great example of when picks are appropriate

…this video reminded me what a great combination the uke and melodica make…if in doubt check out GUGUGs rendition of Tequila… …also a fine example of appropriate pick usage on that there barritone…

    cbf: True that.

Nick: They definitely seem to go together. This has to be my favourite uke/melodica duet.

…Le gâteau magnifique de soprano/contrebasse avec le glaçage de melodica…

    P.s…I don’t speak a word…

hey Al, last note of the tab are you sure is 15 in E? for me works better 12 in E (meaning E to finish) and slide to 0, is that right? anyway great video good artists, and great tabbing, you’re the best

George: Yeah, that slide is a bit nondescript. So you can start it from anywhere really.

Got something to say?
