Al, I found the Vagabondage video on SFGate.com’s local music blog, Off the Record. The blogger called them San Francisco’s greatest acoustic duo. There was no mention of a ukulele but there was the video, so I
just happened to watch. Well, I instantly fell in love with it, just fabulously well done, in my opinion. At that time the video was not tagged for “ukulele” so I told John, the singer, that doing so would increase the views, and it’s since been done. My thought was that
the ukulele world would be the video’s primary audience, even though they are not primarily a ukulele band.

I also told them that I would put their their video into your annual contest to give them some very well deserved exposure. John said he’d used your site as a primary source when he was learning how to play and that they’d be honored to have the video shown on your site. So you see you’ve played a role in their career and in this video.

I’ve mentioned them to various uke blogs, and Jeff put the video up on Humble Uker, then Donnie Bubbles on UkeToob. And now
you’ve helped them out, too. I go from here to email them with the news.

Vagabondage wins the “Howlin’ Hobbit Hot Damn” prize for this entry. That’s a hella good tune. And presentation. And video.

Ron, I’ll no doubt be blogging about them myself. Not to mention checking out the rest of their vids. And no doubt sending them all sorts of fanboy emails.

Herman: Glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for your contribution.

drfrancov: Me too. That’s some fantastic playing. Can’t wait to see the Safari.

todd: I’d love to see a collab between you too.

Ron: Excellent job turning the uke community on to this one. Thanks!

Hobbit: Glad you enjoyed it. Looks like accordion and ukulele is the new kazoo and ukulele.
