Lulu and the Lampshades, White Hinterland: UkeTube

The good news is that, judging by the very nice video, someone is putting money into the very talented Lulu and the Lampshades. Also this week is a song from White Hinterland which probably won’t be to a few people’s taste (you can hear them doing something more traditional here) and a glorious tune from I Am Autumn along with old faves like BAS, Sweetafton and the Re-entrants (it’s well worth watching all the videos Ian uploaded on Thursday).

Lulu and the Lampshades – Feet to the Sky

Boulder Acoustic Society – Ruben’s Train

I Am Autumn – Happy Hour of the Living Dead

White Hinterland – No Logic

Ian Emmerson – Douce Ambiance

Phil Doleman – Nevertheless (I’m in Love with You

Amelia Robinson – Horizontal Vertigo

Molly Lewis and Dr Noise – Instanbul (Not Constantinople)

Love the Boulder Acoustic Society. Great harmonies. Thumping. Lose the megaphone thingy though.

Cheers for the plug Al, and cheers to the people who said nice things! And the new look site is fandabidosi. I loved the I am Autumn tune, and Molly and Dr Noise. Actually (Me and Phil notwithstanding) a great crop of vids this week.

(and BTW – we’ve done The Duchess at York twice, so you never know)

alec: I would tend to agree.

    Herman: Glad you enjoyed it!

todd: It does make you wonder why those two bother with the pop covers.

Nick: Good luck catching them next time round.

    krabbers: No doubt.

Maarten: I think it’s F# – F#sus4 – F#sus2 – F#sus4 but I’m not sure whether he’s tuned up half a step (and using the F chord shape) or tuned down a step (and using the G shape). My guess is tuned down. I’ll try asking him.

    John: Thanks.

Ian: Always a pleasure to feature you both.

I’m usually not one who does this… but I would purely love the tabs to Douce Ambiance. That was da bomb.

A damn good batch of vids in general, but that’s got to be my fave.

Everybody is amazing! Ian is so good, captivating. I think I could play the song for hours. I love the little stop motion mice in I Am Autumn’s video, the poor dears – but what a wild lights show!

Great bunch of vids this week.

I liked this Molly Lewis cover A LOT more than I liked her Garfunkel & Oates cover she uploaded this week. I guess I missed the They Might Be Giants vid.

    ?

    Hobbit: So would I.

Anne: At least they had a good time before they chased down.

  14. Woodshed March 14th, 2010 5:30 pm

live2tivo: I preferred this one as well. But the frog solo certainly raised a grin too.

Love the new look of the website! Any chance of getting a tab for that great rendition of NEVERTHELESS(I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU)?

    Thanks,
    Joshua

Of course I went straight for White Hinterland when I read that only a few would like it. And now that I’ve heard it I can’t imagine anyone not liking it.

  17. Phil Doleman March 15th, 2010 7:51 am

Thanks for posting my vid, Al.

Nick B-C: I’m working on a return to The Duchess right now!

Joshua: I don’t have any tabs I’m afraid, I did it by ear, based loosely on the ‘chorus’ chords here…

Happy hour of the living dead is one of the coolest songs i’ve heard in a while! I think i’m a bit in love with it!
