Jeopardy Theme (Tab)

Jeopardy Theme (Tab)

MP3

This one was suggested by Ben and Alec in the Essential Snippets post as a tune to play while waiting.

The first part of the tune, being in C, works really well on the uke. Then it switches up to Eb and plays exactly the same thing. Which makes things much more tricky. I’ve added some fingering suggestions underneath the tab.

Hey, great! On the way home to play.

Great job, Al! You even got it at exactly the right tempo.

(The piece was famously commissioned by asking the composer to give them a song of exactly 30 seconds. This info brought to you by the incredibly vast collection of useless trivia that lives in my fevered brain.)

I’m not familiar with this one, but Hobbit’s comment has got me thinking of the countdown, erm, ‘countdown’ music. I’m not the sort to do requests because I like the site being your thing. Just, you know, saying…

    :-)

    Nice! Well done!

Question: as a campanella champion, why do you skip arranging some songs in campanella? I’s guess probably because it’s a pain to play that way, and most readers would prefer a straight, easy version?

Not that I’m complaining; I have a terrible ear for figuring stuff out (and lazy and prone to frustration), so it’s great to get all your arrangements. Once I have the tabs, or sheet music, I really enjoy arranging stuff, and trying to figure out a campanella way to play it. It’s a good way to get familiar with the fretboard too, and ways to vary my playing.

    Great! Thank you.

To Alec — good idea! I have a tough time “hearing it” too but this is a good suggestion. Thanks.

To Al — You’re the best!

Alec: Partly it’s a difficulty thing. But mainly some songs suit it more than others. This tune has quite a few campanella parts. But when there are a lot of notes close together it gets hard to play. And that part is very staccato so you wouldn’t want the notes ringing anyway.

Hobbit: Thanks. I think the tempo was more luck than skill.

mictoboy: Good one. Might have a go at Countdown some time.

    Rob: Thanks.

    Jeff: Cheers!

This’ll be fun to play while waiting for my band to get their stuff in order.

    Thanks!

This is fun! But I think — I *THINK* — the second chiming chord might be 0-2-3 rather than 0-0-3?

    Redmond: Enjoy!

Mike: From memory, I think it’s an F. But I wanted to keep the arrangement fairly simple.

  12. Mike April 21st, 2010 9:18 pm

    Simple is good!
