Back on 13th May

Screw you guys, I’m going on holiday!

Don’t be that jealous, though. I’m only going as far as the Lake District.

So the next post you get from me will be the third birthday post on the 13th. Gosh, doesn’t time.

Love ya. Bye.

Bye, Al. Have a nice vacation!

    Don’t forget your kayak!

  3. Bossarocker April 24th, 2010 7:21 pm

Actually, I am jealous! I used to live near the Lakes & I miss it being on my doorstep. Have a fab holiday, Al.

  4. CharlesHugh April 24th, 2010 7:38 pm

    We’ll miss you. Have fun!

  5. Skulleigh April 24th, 2010 9:11 pm

OMG, I am definitely jealous. I hope to someday see the Lake District if I can ever get over the Big Pond.

I am also sad, I just found this site earlier this week, and now you’re already running out on me!

Oh well, I have a backlog of posts to read through. Enjoy your holiday!

  6. kurtuke April 24th, 2010 10:51 pm

    Same Here. have fun!

  7. Rob NY April 24th, 2010 11:12 pm

    Going to miss you. Enjoy!

  8. Alec April 25th, 2010 1:13 pm

You’re awfully selfish. What are we supposed to do for three weeks? Arrange our own songs? Find ukulele videos by ourselves? I hope you fall in the lake.

  9. Nick B-C... April 25th, 2010 7:36 pm

    …MMMM…mint cake…big hills…fresh air…vast expanses of water…how can you say don’t be jelous…Have a good break sir!!!…

  10. tozan April 26th, 2010 3:04 am

Enjoy! Hope you come back with a fresh perspective. Wish I could.

  11. Matthew April 29th, 2010 12:10 am

Gosh darn I live in the lake district (keswick) and could of got you discount accomodation for the price of a ukulele lesson (oh and that Mescaleros tab i asked you for!)

  12. Birdman April 29th, 2010 10:29 pm

You leave NOW!? …After stumbling upon your absolutely wonderful site today, I was inspired to bust out my old, almost untouched ukulele – within 30 minutes, I am now COMPLETELY hooked! (I’m an avid guitar player, and it was a gift…) I had NO idea such a “cute” instrument could be so dynamic and …musical! I feel stupid for overlooking it for so long!

Needless to say, we have work to do, new mentor! Hurry back! :)

  13. Marie May 2nd, 2010 1:57 am

lakes are highly overrated, besides I’m sure you can pick up a wifi signal somewhere.
    enjoy the break.

  14. kurtuke May 7th, 2010 4:53 am

I agree Lakes are overrated. Rivers are where its at!

  15. Armelle May 7th, 2010 6:51 pm

Two weeks of silence, another week to go before your next post. It feels like ages !
Just to let you know you are missed !

  16. alec May 12th, 2010 4:22 pm

    Now them’s some lyrics.

  17. Jae May 13th, 2010 12:26 am

i miiiiiiiiiiiss you. it’s not faaaaaiiiiiir. come baaaaaaack.

oh wait, you’re coming back tomorrow. YAY. hey, I have a birthday request (because I know you really care that much about me): Montreal by Arianne Moffat.

I know it’s in the most foreign language EVER (french) but I really love it, and I know you would enjoy it too. and if it’s really not possible… maybe something by Born Ruffians?

THANK YOU (for even considering, if you did at all). (:

PS if you really don’t want to do it, then can you just write it down on a list or something and do it later? that’s how much I want it. Waiting is totally worth it.

  18. Phredd May 13th, 2010 10:32 am

Welcome back Al. I’ve hung on until your return. I hope you had a fantabulous respite.

  19. Fuke May 13th, 2010 3:44 pm

Signs that you have an addiction to Uke Hunt:

    1. You know that there aren’t going to be any more posts until the 13th of May, yet you check most days anyway, just in case.

    2. You come back on the 13th May several times, in the hope that Al’s back…

    Oh dear.

  20. Sterling May 13th, 2010 3:47 pm

I’ve been reading this site for about 3 months now, and it’s been amazingly helpful in my search for new songs to play. These last three weeks have been terrible!

  21. Alec May 13th, 2010 3:56 pm

I second Fuke, but like this: is it not May 13th? Get a move on. And the first post back better be a good one.

  22. Armelle May 13th, 2010 5:39 pm

I suffer from the same symptoms Fuke has described.
I think I’ve already checked at least 5 times whether you had posted your 13th of May birthday post.
Hope next time is the right one ;)

In the meantime, happy Uke Hunt birthday !

  23. Bossarocker May 13th, 2010 6:11 pm

    Yeah, hurry up, Al!

  24. Woodshed May 13th, 2010 10:34 pm

    Emily: Thanks. I did do.

Herman: I should have done. But a bit too much like hard work.

Bossa: I’m now quite tempted to move there. Grasmere in particular. If just for the gingerbread.

    CharlesHugh: Cheers!

Skulleigh: Hope you’re caught up now.

kartuke & RobNY: Thanks. I had a great time.

Alec: I very nearly did fall in a lake. My balance is terrible.

Nick B-C: Kendal mint cake is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever had in my mouth. And that’s saying something.

tozan: Not sure about a fresh perspective, but certainly with an enthusiasm to get back down to things.

Matthew: I might go to Keswick next time since I was on the South side of things this time.

Birdman: Glad you’ve seen the light. I started on guitar before I graduated to uke as well.

L.Bo Marie: I did specifically pick a place with Wifi. But I still needed a break from most of the work.

alec: I do like Charlie. He’s so cool like.

Jae: There are chords for it here (a few of them anyway).

Phredd: Thanks. I’ve been working on something I think you’ll like.

Sterling: At least you managed to survive somehow.

Fuke and Armelle: If you were real fans you’d know what time I’d post :P

  25. skulleigh May 14th, 2010 1:41 am

Welcome back! I did indeed crawl through the site. That giant sucking sound was your bandwidth ;)

  26. Woodshed May 15th, 2010 6:19 pm

skulleigh: Then it must have been your fault the site went down!
