Clem Snide, Florence & the Machine: UkeTube

I’m really inspired by sanfordandsong‘s channel at the moment. No Shimabukuro or Beatles covers for him. This week he’s doing Aphex Twin.

Before you throw accusations of snobbishness at me, there’s a Shimabukuro cover in the post (albeit Bruce) played by cute ukulele boys.

Famous folks this week include Florence and the Machine and Eef ‘Clem Snide’ Barzelay (the video starts with a beer commercial and 90 seconds worth of jaw flapping – I almost didn’t include it but it is very good).

Favourites this week are Veronica Sbergia and her buddies spreading the good times and The Sneaky Mister.

Veronica Sbergia & The Red Wine Serenaders – You Drink Too Much

The Sneaky Mister – Time

Kazuki & Naoto – Cognito Town

Sanfordandsong – Film

Clem Snide – Faithfully

Rick DiDia and Aireene Espiritu – Wailing Sun

Thanks Jeff.

Tinyfolk – Clouds

Panic Attract – The Wrong Place

Florence and the Machine – I’m Not Calling You A Liar

The Well Informed – Daddy’s Dime

Veronica Sbergia would be nice this eve with a good cool white wine on a private terras!

    Thank you Al.

“Flim” is definitely one of the most beautiful pieces of music to come from a modern electronic artist, especially in its context of the otherwise extremely creepy “Come to Daddy” EP…I recommend it to anyone looking for an “adventurous” listen.

Veronica and the red wine serenaders – awesome group, really like their stuff. But do they have to make it so damn hard to buy their album? There’s no link on their website, only a name, so I tap that into Google and have to search for the album on some Italian distributor website, which wants me to pay £20 plus postage from Italy. Then Paypal flips out and doesn’t accept the site as credible.

Ended up buying it on eBay. I tried to give them my money but if they make it so damn hard then tough, as far as I’m concerned. There’s plenty of download sites they could put it on and make far more cash out of, than making you buy a CD and wait for it to be shipped.

Great little list again Al!! I thought Kazuki and Naoto were especially impressive, great playing for two young lads.

Loving little Kazuki and Naoto. How hard would that be to put into tabs? I wouldn’t know where to start…

…It takes a lot to stir me into posting action these days…But I love Richard D James musical output…so hearing an Aphex Twin tune on the uke made my day…cheers Al…

Herman: She’d be good any evening.

Sanford: Thanks for your contribution. Awesome version.

byjimini: I think I remember seeing it on a French site.

    Foinnse: Glad you enjoyed it.

todd: Me too. Wisdom Tooth on the other half of his new record is great too.

stewkulele: It wouldn’t be hard to tab. But I don’t know if Bruce has the same opinion on tabs as his brother.

Nick: Good to see you again!

    simone: Probably not I’m afraid.

simone: Hurling insults isn’t a great way to change my mind.

Joaooo: Sorry, don’t think I will be doing.

I second the vote to do a tab/chord for Clem Snide’s Journey cover

  14. Woodshed July 25th, 2010 10:25 pm

CBP03: I’m not planning on doing any baritone tabs in the near future.

Got something to say?
