Secret Home Party, Katie Herzig: UkeTube

Favourite video this week comes from Secret Home Party (with guest appearance by Danielle’s moon). And I like the idea of them being a group of talented buddies who get together occasionally to make music and have a laugh. I want to be in that band.

Enough of the fake Ukulele Orchestra, from now on only the real guys; this week covering one of my favourite songs of all time. Also this week: Neutral Uke Hotel (going by The Motion Uke) covering one of their own songs, Uketreehugger (brace yourself for some drunken shouting around the 1 minute 40 mark) and the return of Sebi’s Monkey Island themes and ginormo-bass.

Secret Home Party – See Saw

Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain – Back in Black

The Motion Uke – Winged Bicycle

Little 6ster – I Was Born With The Blues

Tiny Tim Overdrive – Can’t Keep

Katie Herzig – Forevermore

Sebi – Monkey Island: LeChuck’s Theme

UkuleleDav – Cinématographe

Uketreehugger – Single Ladies

I’m in love with Uketreehugger’s voice. IN LOVE.

A distressing amount of guitars this week… THIS is how the end begins!! : )

Thanks for featuring Tiny Tim Overdrive, Al. It’s always a thrill!

When you join Secret Home Party, can you sneak me into the band too?! They’re a heck of a lot of fun. So, for that matter, was The Motion Uke’s performance.

UkuleleDav can be TTO’s featured soloist any time he wants!

Oops. I misread. I thought it said ‘Secret Garden Party’ where I was last week. Have it on the brain at the moment! Cracking band, as well as the UOoGB of course!

What a great version of Single Ladies by Aly. And what an entertaining video. Really loved it!

And thanks a ton for including the Monkey Island video. I’m honored!

I really enjoyed “Forevermore”. That’s a great song.

Secret Home Party reminds me of my friends and I getting together and playing only more talent and less banjos.

Too many great ones this week. I’ll simply give a tie for first between Secret Home Party and Tiny Tim Overdrive with The Motion Uke doing a hard charge in second.

SHP is an example of a band I dream about being in. At least 7 or 8 people doing all sorts of noises together. Alas, those sorts almost always have to be hobby bands nowadays and the work I’m doing trying to pull a living together seems to get in the way.

Paul: I only count 2 guitars. Thanks for your contribution.

    Lorraine: Easy mistake to make.

Sebi: It’s good to see the Monkey Island videos back.

Lindy: Some more banjo would be welcome.

Hobbit: It must be tough getting a big band to pay for itself. Must admit, I’m not altogether upset that things are moving back to people making music for the fun of it.

Woodshed: it’s not so much a matter of me objecting to people making music just for the fun of it, it’s simply kinda hard to make it pay (if that’s where your head’s at) and it takes a *lot* of time. This cuts down on the time you can spend on projects you’d like to do, monetarily rewarding or not.

Thankfully I’m pretty patient. Or stubborn. Or both. I’ll get to one of those uber-bands before you know it.

Thanx for the support and the great job, Al! ;°)

It would be awesome if you did a tab of Secret House Party’s “Reciprocation”

Little 6ster: Thanks very much for your contribution. Another top notch performance.

Joe: It would be. Who knows.
