Eric Clapton’s Uke: Ukulele Window Shopping

The ukulele previously owned by Eric Clapton that was sold at Bonhams earlier this year is now up for sale on eBay.

At first I just thought Luna ukuleles were making ukes that weren’t, to say the least, to my taste. But seeing their Luna Peace ukulele has convinced me they’re doing it specifically to wind me up (thanks to Phredd for the link).

aNueNue ukuleles have been adding to their line of signature ukuleles including (friend of Uke Hunt) Shigeto Takahashi; (child prodigy) Sungha Jung and (Thai uker) Singto Namchok.

    i own a luna guitar (one of their less… flamboyant ones) and i really like it but the massive majority of their instruments really are gaudy as hell.

    Yvonne de Villiers is an artist, so you’re not
    going to find her designing the usual sort of ‘beige’ instruments, Al. I quite like the Luna Great Wave design.

    And looks like aNueNue is placing bets on just
    where it thinks uke sales will be strong.

    Ron: I have nothing against non-beige instruments. That just sounds like sound judgement from aNueNue.

    The whole ‘If everyone played the ukulele there’d be no war’ thing really grates on me.

    Do you Really think Luna’s are bad, I bought my first Uke almost a year ago for 240$(Wavy Pearl) I fell in love with it, I went to New York and got another one for 140$(Triangle) and I love it too. But I’m wondering if it was a bad but, what’s a good Uke that’s not to pricey I read your Uke Reviews all the time I’m just wondering what’s your opinion on all this?
