There’s a new Bond film on the way so time to write up my second favourite Bond theme (after this one).

I’ve kept it reasonably simple for this one. All the melody notes are playing with the thumb and all the supporting strums (shown in brackets) are strummed.

    “Underneath the Mango Tree,” from Dr No, strikes me as the perfect James Bond song. The song and movie are exactly right for their time, they bring to mind the image of Harold Macmillan or some other aged veteran of the First World War lounging on a beach in Jamaica, wearing a silk shirt, cradling a cigarette holder in one hand and a gin martini in the other.     Awesome! This would make a great campfire song. Nice and mellow, simple enough that it’s something you can talk over if you want but complex enough that you can listen and not get bored.

    a good and useful site .. however I will not be using it in my lessons for school children as I do not want to explain to their parents why their children have been introduced to the phrase ‘UKE HUNT’ .. it is unlikely that you did not understand how the ‘phrase’ sounds when you pronounce it .. a shame ..
