About 1,750 posts ago I put up The Arctic Monkeys’ Despair in the Departure Lounge. Since then there’s been a steady trickle of requests for Fluorescent Adolescent. So it’s about time I got round to it.

It’s a fairly difficult one. Lots of barre chords, the dreaded E chord and some confusing rhythms. Still, none of it’s as tricky as spelling the title.

    Awesome, love Arctic Monkeys, one of my favourites this

    When I was first starting up the E chord was the bane of my playing but with some experimentation it became normal there are some far fiddlier things out there
    Or you could always go for the concert/barred version 4447

    Toast: I do often go with 4447. Or some other variation.

    Are the order of the chords in the song correct? ‘Cause it sounds a little different to me :p

    I am so upset with you right now woodshed.

    I was rifling through my girlfriend’s ipod last night in the car and I was like ooh arctic monkeys I know a couple of their songs.. put this one on and fell in love. sung it at work all day and came home to find out if you had ever tabbed this…
    To my surprise you did that yesterday as I was falling in love with it.

    Synchronicity is such a joke.
