UkeTube: Art Fowler, Caracol, Tinyfolk, JoCo, Dent May

A busy week this week. I’ve completely broken my 10 video maximum and left out some stuff I really liked. Those that made the cut include Emily Ritz, Dent May camping it up (again), Tinyfolk, daniellesmagic, a catch up with Caracol, and Sweetafton by herself and Kristen back with JoCo after – I imagine – a vicious ‘getcha hands offa ma man’ type cat-fight.

But my favourite this week is Art Fowler’s performance with Gene Austin. I’ve been trying to find some of his solo stuff to buy with no luck. But I did find a track on Internet Archive.

Gene Austin and Art Fowler -Everything’s Made For Love

Honeybody and the Moonbees (Emily Ritz) – Scars and Sores

daniellesmagic – Fool

Tinyfolk – In the Museum

Caracol – L’amour est un tricheur

Sweetafton23 – It All Makes Sense in the End

Jonathan Coulton & Kristen Shirts – Baby Got Back

Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele – “Howard”

moonkoen – Sweet Child O’ Mine

Jamie Drake – I Really Like You

Galt Line Workers – Trouble

Sunt1o – Monkey Island Theme

That Monkey Island theme was my favourite. That’s a huge treat for a MI fan like me!

Some nice selections there this week, I think my favourite might be tinyfolk., his hair reminded me of Robert Smith.

Can’t say I’m all that taken with Dent May though.

    I really love daniellesmagic.
All of her music is really unique and she has a really awesome voice.

    Al,
(How in the heck did you come across Honeybody and the Moonbees? They don’t even have uke in their tag!) Only possible in the Pacific Westcoast I say…great find. I really like their “Suctioncups”.

I’m with jhob – that Tinyfolk song is quite ace, and can’t quite get my head around Dent May… the Honeybody one is an ace find too – top ‘tube scouring, sir!

Honeybody reminded me of Coco Rosie. It’s an intense song, spooky in its own way.

Jimmy and Lee: Looks like I might have to add that tune to the ‘to-tab’ list.

todd and John: I wouldn’t have picked that out as a single. The video is hilarious though.

Rennie and Seeso: I still haven’t decided where I stand on the Danielle front. Some of her songs I love. Some I don’t get at all.

Joseph: I’ve been a fan of Emily Ritz
for a while and I subscribed to her videos when I realised she wasn’t tagging them with ‘ukulele’.

    ron: Erm… Vous et welcome.

    byjimini: Thanks.

Alice: Glad you can find stuff you like.

hillfield: I think Dent might be one of those ‘love him or hate him’ acts.

I really like the Gene Austin tune, “Everything’s made for Love”. Any chance you know where to look for the chords?

The song “Everything’s made for Love” is fantastic. I’d love to play it but I don’t know where to start with the chords. Any chance you know (roughly) what to do there?
    Thanks!

I would also like to know how to play “Everything’s made for Love”. If anyone finds sheet music for how to play it I’d pay for copies, postage, and time! …or you could post it on Uke Hunt for free…

I agree with Matt. I would love it if someone would post the chords + strum. Such a beautiful song.

    Okay, Everything’s Made For Love
    Its roughly (L1) A7, (L2) D, Ebdim, (L3) A7, D for the first verse
    Second verse is (L1) A7, (L2) D, Ebdim, (L3) A7, Bm7, (L4) A, A7
    Verse 3, (L1) A6, (L2) Am6, (L3) Bm7, A6, (L4) Bm7, A6, A7, D

This is maybe. But its really all I got. Its super complicated
Hope this is a good start
