LP – Into the Wild (Chords)

LP – Into the Wild (Chords)

For the first time ever, all my nominations have made it through to the vote for Ukulele Video of the Year. Which means either everyone who reads this blog now has impeccable taste or I’ve successfully alienated everyone that disagrees with me.

I only added LP’s Into the Wild to my nominations at the last minute. I was checking through the ‘Other Videos You Might Like’ list and realised that this song is pretty magnificent. Dead simple too. Only three chords in it: G, Em and C.

Whoever you want to vote for you can cast your vote here.

Suggested Strumming

She’s doing mostly down-up:

d u d u d u d u

Do that twice for every chord in the verse and chorus. Once for every chord in the pre-chorus.

Download it for free on her website.

I’m a total novice…any chance you can print the words to the song with the chords? This way I know where to start, when to change. Just a beginner here. If not, it’s ok.

I’m sort of confused on how to read and play this as I am a beginner. Do I do the chord until the new chord begins?

  16. Woodshed May 30th, 2012 1:19 pm

    Shari: Yes, that’s right.

Thanks for this Woodshed, I recently realised that most of the music I listen to I usually discover through your site. And not to sound like to much of a suck up, but your “For Dummies” book was the best fifteen pounds I’ve spent in ages, so thanks for that as well.>

  20. Woodshed July 24th, 2012 8:21 pm

Teddy: Thanks very much for sucking up!

How is the ukelele tuned for this song? I’m just learning and have seen so many different tunings for the uke. Thanks!

  22. Woodshed September 10th, 2012 7:45 am

    Erin: Standard tuning gCEA.

Here is the on the street street only ukelele version. I think it might help those having difficulty with this song.

Thanks very much for posting the chords and lyrics (click the orange box!). Helped me out as I was trying to watch LP’s left hand fingering on the frets to catch the chords and changes.

  32. Woodshed May 1st, 2013 1:57 pm

    Fijidawg: You’re welcome.

Got something to say?
