I totally agree on Matt Kresling. The Video/Song My Apartments in Order is just brillant and I wish TV was as good as The Madagasgar Journals.

Thanks for the post – needed a good run-down of the great videos so far.

Personally, I can’t get the She & Him tune out of my head – so I’d vote for that.

Captain: It’s killing me the length of time between episodes.

    Charlie: Same here!

    Thanks Al!

    Sanford: You’re very welcome.

I’ve got a raging internet crush on Matt Kresling. I’m so glad you posted his stuff here.

Also: New goal. Make the Uke Hunt favorites list. What? It could happen and you gotta start with goals, right?

pam: You really should be setting your goals higher!

    Well, Al, let us see…

First off – Best Brit uke band blown off by Brit (and other) uke blogs:

Ouse Valley Singles Club. Absolutely shameless that they aren’t plastered all over the ukulele blogosphere. (Kills an old baby boomer to type that last word.)

No excuses accepted here. One of the best is being totally ignored. It’s really that simple. I’d put them up against any of the favored Brit bands that are endlessly fawned over. Any of them.

Uke Videos (Ignoring the ones that I know were posted on blogs):

I Am that I Am – Sunbeam Moonbeam
    CoeurStudio

Simply one-of-a-kind. One of my favorites ever.

Scampi and Chips by The Ouse Valley Singles Club
    TheOuseValleySinglesClub

The naked truth about the English.

Scratch and Ink Animation Music Video for the Acoustic Song Old Farewell
    adamandjayne

    Touching.

DESIREE: Inspirer of Erections and Songs That
    F*cking Shred By Smut Cake
    Smut Cake

    Pretty much sums it up.

    Dreams For Two
    SusanneHoufek

    Ray Penfield’s latest.

paul brennan – temptation’s bite (live)
    Paul Brennan

    Just uke and voice.

    GCEA Ukulele – Tricity Vogue
    Tricity Vogue

Forget that piece of spit masquerading as a ukulele anthem. This is the real deal. Fun for all but the grumpiest.

In the light (Love stories HD version)
    MySavearth

But in the light…everything looks beautiful and bright.

    Owl Girl – Rae Sterling
    raesterling

    One for animal lovers.

    Camy Wammy – Dry Climate
    Camy Wammy

    Not for the grumpy.

    ALLO DARLIN’ – HISTORY LESSONS
    StephenORegan

    Just uke + acoustic guitar.

Finally, one to make Brit bloggers yank their hair out –

The United Kingdom Ukulele Orchestra Plays –
    Walk like an Egyptian
    TheJeany90

Now, deserving of special comment are the ukulele background music videos springing up like locusts after a 17-year stint underground.

Uke-zac. Ukulele wallpaper. Happy, cheerful, upbeat sounds for your corporate clients.

Why, every time I hear the stuff I’m floating over a rainbow on a unicorn. Gamboling with little baby sheep across a meadow. Oh, what a wonderful world.

    Peace, Love, & ‘Ukulele, baby.

Speaking of which – Jake gets two pages in the current Guitar Player for a uke lesson. He’s the guitar player’s ukulele player now.

Gushed over by the GP writer. The uke is such a fab instrument and Jake shows you can do anything on it. Yada yada.

But stick with high g. Low g is for losers. Haven’t bought that uke yet? Come on, man.

Jake. Jake. Jake. All the Jake you can take at the All-Jake Buffet. 24/7. Never ending.

Does no one else play the instrument?

Now, what do uke blogs have against the guitalele?
Some very good videos out there and how many of them make it to a uke blog?

Exactly. GP included the Yamaha version in its current issue listing of ukes under $100.
